Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love. They depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog. It merely expands the heart.
A huge hole was left in our hearts when our old sausage dog, Spider, passed. It was over two years before we could even think of filling it. Then along came Rhubarb, the pug. The girls and we once more fell head-over-heels in love. She is amazing and fierce. She has the sassiest walk and makes us laugh with her endless zoomies. Rhubarb loves all dogs and shares her unconditional love with everyone. Spider would have loved her.
