Last week the West Australian Professional Photographer Awards (WAPPA) were held. I am absolutely delighted to announce I received a distinction award award for this gorgeous image of newborn twins.  It was also a finalist for best print in the Family Portrait category.

Think it’s still to cold for family portraits?  Think again, check out this gorgeous family I met up with a few weeks ago.  You might recongise the boy as one of my poster boys, he’s the blue eyed six month old you see in all my galleries!  How adorable is his little sister, she definitely gives him a run for his money.

Winter is a great time for portraits, the wind is calmer, the light more flattering and the clothing options are endless!  Of course more important here was their wee girls age.  Around 7 months, she can sit but not crawl, it’s one of the best time to get baby portraits done. Don’t wait for summer and miss this stage it’s just to adorable not to capture forever.

How nice to have a girl after a run on wee boys.  This lucky girl is the fourth baby in the most gorgeous family!  There is definitely no shortage of love for her.

One of the great little parts of my job that you wouldn’t expect is meeting lots of parents and swapping lots of ideas and advice on the various things our little angels throw at us.  The day this little one came to play, I was thinking my little(okay big) girl was giving up her day sleep ( and at the rate my girl chatters this was a scary thought).  Lucky for me this bubs Mum gave me the best advice to ease out of day sleeps THANK YOU! . . .  I am happy to say it was a false alarm, but know I’m not so worried about it when it will happen.

I have been neglecting my blog of late : ( – I’d love to give a wild and exciting reason, but the truth is sadly far more droll. Our house has, like half of Perth, been under siege from the winter lergies, and we all know that sick children aren’t really happy when Mum spends time looking at a computer! Fingers crossed we are finally on our way back up.

Now to this very late post – I say it over and over and it’s just so true, little babies eyes are just so engaging. They look at you with such openness, hope and honesty. I just love it! This little man came to me 9 weeks old, a little older than most, but oh my – those eyes!

Last weekend the Australian Professional Photographer Awards (APPA) were held in Melbourne. I am absolutely delighted to announce I received a silver award for this gorgeous image, taken just a week before those adorable twins arrived! It’s just wonderful to be recognised for my work.

Lucky me, my new neighbours have kindly had precious twin boys for me to play with! Would you believe these two gorgeous boys were the best behaved newborns I’ve had in a while. It must be that special soothing feeling of having someone you’ve known forever by your side. I’m so pleased you’ve moved next door little men, my wee boy is going to have a ball playing with you both. And thank you to mum for coming back for a second play . . . I think it was definantly worth it! Here’s a few of my quick pick favourites for you.

This gorgoues little man came to me with his family when he was 4 weeks old. He wasn’t very sleepy but was so very adorable, I think it runs in the family!

I was lucky enough to be invited back (17 months later) to photograph this family’s second newborn girl. Such a gorgeous wee girl, quite different from her big sister – who has grown into the most adorable toddler ever – but every bit as adorable. I loved that you could see her quiet yet strong character, she had her way of telling me when she’d had enough with out even crying. I wonder if that will stay . . . enjoy your sneaky peak and thank you for having me back!

I met with this gorgeous family at the beach on the weekend for some fun and family photo’s. Need I say more, other than I dare you not to fall in love with those blue eyes!

One of the wonderful things about my job is going back to families as they grow and helping to capture those special moments. I first met this family to when his little one was just about to make it known she was coming. I was just wonderful to see them again, see how much their little man has grown and to meet the new girl in their lives. And don’t you wish you looked that good just a week after having a baby!
